Costing $2.2 million when it was constructed, the McDowell Administration Building houses the university's administrative offices and the College of Business. Classrooms in the McDowell Administration Building are used for business, history, political science, and graduate classes. The building was dedicated in honor of former president Frank Henderson "Bub" McDowell. It was originally known as the McDowell Business and Administration Building and is still called the "BA Building" today. During the Texas Sesquicentennial celebration, a time capsule was buried in front of the building to be opened in 2035. The McDowell Administration Building is located at the end of University Drive.
