Rachel's Garden is dedicated in loving memory of Rachel Erin Rollings, a student at Texas A&M University-Commerce who was killed in an automobile accident on August 6, 2006. Rachel, aged 22, was a member of the Sigma Zeta Chapter of the Chi Omega Fraternity, where she served as New Member Educator and was a Resident Assistant for the house. Rachel was a lifeguard at the Ja-Lu Municipal Swimming Pool in Greenville and the Morris Recreation Center. The memorial is also in memory of Britney Lipsey, who was killed as a result of the same automobile accident. Britney, aged 20, was head lifeguard at the Ja-Lu Municipal Swimming Pool in Greenville and gave swimming lessons at the Morris Recreation Center. The bronze sculpture of a lioness leading and teaching her cubs is in honor of Rachel's goal to become a teacher. We Are All Part Of The Pride.
