Rogers. Absent, Sue Rogers (Mrs. Barney King). Judge Rogers (born May 10, 1826 in Tenn.; died March 31, 1895) was the son of E.M. Rogers and Nancy B. Barbee. Judge Rogers came to Hopkins County in 1856, and his first wife died in 1857. She was Rena Ann Weaver, who he married in 1850, and they had two children. Rena Ann was the sister of the noted Col. J.A. Weaver. In Feb., 1860, Judge Rogers married Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Pride Crook, and they had four children. Judge Rogers was a Methodist Church leader, county judge, and the first Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge at Bright Star, which was the first name of the town of Sulphur Springs.
