Abstract
The purpose of this action research study was to examine the predictive relationship between the Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) and student achievement in an identified district of study. Action research allows educators through systematic inquiry to study their students’ learning processes, how their schools operate, and how their students’ learn (Mertler, 2014). Secondly, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between teacher evaluations and student achievement to determine if TAP evaluation scores, when focusing on building teacher capacity, are good predictors of student achievement on state testing.
