The Home Economics Building was constructed in 1957 to provide dedicated classroom space and an auditorium for Home Economics students. In 1974, the Home Economics Building was renamed in honor of Wathena Temple, Home Economics professor and department head from 1953-1974. The building was closed and used for storage in the late 1980s following the elimination of the Home Economics program. The building reopened in 2003 as Wathena Temple Fine Arts to be used by the Art Department. Wathena Temple Fine Arts Building is located west of the Alumni Center on the north side of the Stonewall Street and Bois D'Arc Street intersection.
