A large tennis complex once stood on the east side of Memorial Stadium where visitor seating and parking are currently located. This facility originally had four courts in the 1950s, and expanded to six courts by the early 1960s. In 1978, the existing visitors seating at Memorial Stadium was demolished in order to remodel and expand the tennis facility to ten courts. This expansion allowed the university to host Lone Star Conference and NAIA tournaments. There were smaller tennis facilities on campus during this time as well. The first was located on the north side of Leberman Hall and the second on the south side of Hubbell Hall. The tennis complex adjacent to Memorial Stadium was the largest and received the most use given its size and proximity to other athletic facilities.
