East Texas State University's Rodeo Arena was constructed in the mid-1950s to support a newly-established Rodeo Club. Located along Highway 24/50 north of the President's Home, the Rodeo Arena hosted numerous student rodeos throughout the academic year. Many events associated with Western Week, a popular student event in the 1950s and 1960s, were also held at the venue. The arena was eventually demolished in the early 1980s following a decline in participation of the Rodeo Club.
