Built at a cost of $12 million to replace the aged Zeppa Center, the Jerry D. Morris Recreation Center opened in 2003. The facility includes a full workout room with multiple weight sets and machines, an indoor jogging track, basketball courts, and an outdoor pool and hot tub. There is also a rock climbing wall and multipurpose courts used for racquetball, badminton, or table tennis. The Rec Center also houses classrooms and locker rooms for use by the students. In late 2016, construction began at the Rec Center for the addition of an outdoor Multi-Activity Court (The MAC) to accommodate soccer, futsal, floor hockey, volleyball, and special events. The building was named after former university president Jerry D. Morris. The Jerry D. Morris Recreation Center is located along Highway 24/50 between Phase III Residence Hall and the Nursing and Health Science Building.
