Constructed for a cost of $8000, the Home Management House was originally a training house for vocational home economics majors. Students specializing in home management were required to live in the house for a period of four weeks up to an entire semester. While living in the house, they were required to perform domestic duties ranging from cooking and cleaning, to child care, yard work, and home maintenance. The kitchen was remodeled in 1961, and a new kitchen, dining area, and garage were added in 1972. The Home Management House was located on the corner of Stonewall and Bois D'Arc Streets.
