Abstract
This qualitative study was designed to identify factors that teachers view as having the most influence on the establishment and sustainability of a professional learning community (PLC). This phenomenological study used narrative inquiry to collect data. The factors revealed in this study included trust, communication, proximity, team structure, and campus leader. Each factor was examined through positive and negative lenses to gain a deeper understanding of ways to most successfully influence the establishment of a PLC.
